• 1996 Our Story
o Founded in January 1996 in Jakarta, PT. Karyawaja Ekamulia was established by the Krisnadi family, who continue to serve as the company’s principal shareholders. From the beginning, our vision has been clear: to become one of Indonesia’s most trusted names in steel stockist and distributor.
o We began our journey by supplying light steel and construction materials, focusing on delivering high-quality products tailored to meet the evolving needs of the construction and manufacturing industries. With a commitment to integrity, quality, and customer satisfaction, PT. Karyawaja Ekamulia has steadily grown into a reliable partner for businesses across the country.
• 2000 Network Expansion
o To strengthen our presence and better serve our customers, we expanded our network to several major cities across Indonesia. This growth has significantly enhanced our operational capacity and extended our market reach, allowing us to deliver quality products more efficiently and reliably nationwide.
• 2011 Investing in Infrastructure
o As demand for steel continued to grow, we made a major investment in our operations by acquiring our first warehouse at Marunda Centre, Jakarta. This facility enabled us to streamline logistics, improve inventory control, and better support customer needs with improved efficiency.
• 2014 Expansion into Ship Building Industry
o Building on nearly two decades of industry experience, we expanded into a new sector with the founding of our subsidiary, PT. KEM Musi Marindo, in February 2014 in Palembang. This marked our entry into the shipbuilding and marine services sector, focusing on the construction of premium tugboats and river-inland barges—supporting Indonesia’s maritime connectivity and industrial growth.
• 2015 Contributing to National Development: The Sea Toll Program
o Under the leadership of Indonesia’s former President Bapak Joko Widodo, we proudly took part in the national “Tol Laut” (Sea Toll) initiative—a government program aimed at improving inter-island connectivity and reducing regional economic disparities.
o As one of the trusted material suppliers, we supported the construction of roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels and maritime infrastructure vital to the success of this program.
• 2019 Supporting National Energy Infrastructure: PLN SUTET Project
o In 2019, PT. Karyawaja Ekamulia contributed to PT. PLN’s (Perusahaan Listrik Negara) SUTET (Extra High Voltage Overhead Line) project, a crucial part of Indonesia’s electricity transmission system.
o By supplying essential construction materials, we played a role in strengthening the nation’s power grid—ensuring the reliable delivery of electricity from power plants to communities across the archipelago.
• 2024 A New Chapter: Brand & Infrastructure Renewal
o In September 2024, as we approached our 30th year, we embraced a new era with the launch of a modernized corporate logo—a visual reflection of our growth, innovation, and readiness for the future.
o That same year, we marked another major milestone with the opening of our new Balaraja Warehouse, a larger and more advanced facility designed to boost our distribution capacity and support our expanding product lines, reaffirming our commitment to serving Indonesia with excellence.
